8 trends to watch from New York Fashion Week Fall 2012
The end of fall 2012 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week brought with it the inevitable forecasting of on-the-cusp trends. While it's still too early to tell which styles the masses will take to, here are eight strong, recurring fall/winter looks that emerged from last week's fashion spectacle.

Barnes & Noble announced Tuesday that it would launch an eight-gigabyte version of its Nook Tablet for $199 - a last-ditch effort to salvage declining profits, which the company said fell by 14% in the fiscal third quarter. (Amazon's 8GB Kindle Fire also costs $199.) The current 16GB Nook Tablet sells for $249. B&N also said it would cut the price of its Nook Color from $199 to $169.
Cops: NYPD sergeant arrested after refusing to take a Breathalyzer
An off-duty NYPD sergeant was arrested and suspended after getting into a minor car accident Sunday night and refusing to take a Breathalyzer, police said. Kwando Karikari-Awere, 38, was involved in the wreck at East 150th Street and Morris Avenue in the Bronx around 8:40 p.m. After police arrived, he refused to take a Breathalyzer test and was charged as such. Police said there were no injuries.
