Fighting the Right

Superstar Cher has not been bashful about exposing her negative views of Mitt Romney. But then Cher has never been bashful about exposing anything, as you can tell from the video for “If I Could Turn Back Time.” Cher recently went on Twitter and tore into Mitt Romney. You would think she would be nervous about making the rich and powerful angry with her. Cher, didn’t you see “Silkwood”?

Cher Tweeted “If ROMNEY gets elected I don’t know if I can breathe same air as Him & his Right Wing Racist Homophobic Women Hating Tea Bagger Masters.” Not to worry—I don’t think Mitt Romney breathes air. Mitt Romney doesn’t need to breathe air, drink water, or eat food. He is completely sustained by money alone. She also tweeted “They care nothing about the POOR The OLD The SICK The HUNGRY CHILDREN & People striving 4 a Better LIFE.” I can almost picture her slapping Mitt Romney and yelling “Snap out of it!” There are plenty of reasons for Cher to be irate with Mitt Romney. On top of everything else, she is a singer, and I’m sure she was horrified by what Mitt Romney did when he sang “America the Beautiful.”

Cher was making records back when Mitt Romney was giving forced haircuts to gay kids and masquerading as a police officer. In one sense, you would think Cher might be a Romney fan—she is very rich. You don’t think of Cher as being super rich. I guess that’s because she can hold a conversation without mentioning that her friends own NASCAR teams and NFL franchises.

Glenn Beck’s bizarre website The Blaze repeated all of Cher’s tweets. Cher, now you’ve gotten Glenn Beck angry at you! You’re going to end up on his chalkboard, linked with chalk arrows to George Soros, Van Jones, and Woodrow Wilson.

Cher was a big supporter of Operation Helmet, which provided free helmet upgrades to soldiers deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. So right there she already has more military experience than Mitt Romney. Cher actually appeared before Congress on behalf of getting better helmets for our troops. I doubt the Republicans were impressed. They only get star-struck by people like Jamie Dimon.

Listen to me Monday through Friday 6 PM to 8 PM on WWRL 1600.
