Mitt Romney spoke at the NAACP convention yesterday. That’s nice—usually the only African-Americans who hear Mitt Romney give a speech are the waiters at $25,000 a seat banquets. I would give Mitt Romney credit for speaking to the NAACP, but when you look at the video, you realize that he wasn’t really talking to them at all. He was talking right over them, directly to the Fox News viewers who would see the clips. Mitt ignited a round of booing when he referred to the Affordable Care Act as “Obamacare.” Obamacare, Mitt? Really? Why not just tell the NAACP attendees that African-Americans should not be tied to the “Democrat Party.” And yes, even people in the Obama camp have taken to calling the health care act “Obamacare.” But that doesn’t mean that other people can use that term. In that sense, the term “Obamacare” is like the “N-word.” And that’s exactly what the people who came up with meant it to be.
As soon as Mitt left the podium at the NAACP, he scampered over to a Fox News camera and gave an interview. Mitt wanted to tell the Fox News viewers “Look how I gave it to them! Obamacare! In your face NAACP!” Mitt Romney wanted to get booed. I hope for his sake that he continues to want to get booed, because it’s going to continue to happen.
It turns out that Mitt planted some of his own supporters in the NAACP audience. Of course, they had to be African-American supporters of Mitt Romney, so there couldn’t have been a lot of them. Really, how many black Republicans are there? You’d think the NAACP people would be suspicious if Alan Keyes, Michael Steele, and Clarence Thomas all showed up.
“The Republican-led House of Representatives has voted to repeal Obamacare.” The nice thing about that headline is that I don’t have to type it. I can just cut and paste it... for the 32nd time. Yes, the House has voted to repeal Obamacare for the 33rd total time. I think they’re hoping that we’re going to lose count. Let me just say one thing—THIS IS NOT WORKING! And by “this,” I mean this repeal tactic AND the House of Representatives.

The Senate Judiciary Committee has advanced a so-called comprehensive immigration plan. And, as usual, Democrats conceded to Republican demands in the name of compromise. Over the last five days, the Judiciary Committee members considered over...
I must admit, I've never been to Oklahoma. I have family friends from there, but it's one part of the Great Plains I've managed to avoid in my life. Yet that didn't stop me from feeling quite a bit of empathy with those folks in...
For over a week, Republicans have refused to focus on anything but so-called scandal. And, it turns out, that's exactly the way they want it. On Thursday, the Heritage Foundation, a prominent conservative think tank, sent a letter to...
A new CNN poll shows Obama's favorability rating at 53 percent. That's up from 51 percent in April, and up from the 51.1 percent from the poll that really counted last November. Like before the scandals, 45 percent of people disapprove of the...
Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives have made their point – they hate Obamacare. And, just in case anyone didn't get the message the first 36 times they made that point, they're about to waste even more taxpayer...

It seems that the Republicans won't stop until their attacks over Benghazi are as vicious as the attack in Benghazi. The Republicans would have you believe that the Obama administration altered the talking points on Benghazi out of political...
