Replay: Confessions of a Wanna Be Radio Wife

By J'Nara Corbin

While listening to the play back of last week’s show I came to the realization that I am indeed a “good time girl!” Clay and I have always joked about my southern, lady-like, “nickel between my knees” upbringing, especially when it comes to the highly competitive dating scene on New York City. All of our loyal Clay Cane Live listeners know that I am searching for my “first husband” and Mr. Cane has even played cupid by hooking up one-on-one celebrity interviews with some of today’s most eligible bachelors in the world of entertainment -- in hopes that I will return with an exclusive quote and an engagement ring. The ultimate goal being is that I work my way from radio co-host to "Radio Wife."

Last Thursday night, something in my spirit moved me to make it crystal clear to Broadway star Norm Lewis (currently appearing in Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess) that I am single and ready to mingle. As he shared his experience of portraying a heartbroken and physically challenged Porgy, I shamelessly flirted over the airwaves -- confessing my want to jump onto the stage at the Richard Rodgers theater and stroke his character’s crooked leg straight! I will keep you all posted with any updates on Norm Lewis in future blogs (crossing fingers and toes that there is something worth telling).

We also had the great pleasure of chatting it up with actress Tichina Arnold. Tichina is currently playing funny girl Fran Drescher’s BFF “Judi” on TV Land’s Happily Divorced. But die hard Tichina fans will always see her as “Sheneneh’s” arch nemesis “Pam” in the 90’s hit sitcom Martin. The legendary "around the way girl" talked her hustle in Hollywood and told us a touching story about her brief encounters with the late, great Whitney Houston.

This week’s show will prove to be just as lively. Aubrey O’Day (formerly of Diddy’s girl group Danity Kane) will be calling to discuss Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice (her charity is the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network) and the legendary Sheryl Lee Ralph will be chatting her new book Redefining Diva: Life Lessons from the Original Dreamgirl, which is available on Tuesday, March 13th,

Be sure to tune into Clay Cane Live tonight at 11pm… it’s ovah!
