@RandiRadio #RandiRhodes blog: Clueless

It’s the final debate night! Tonight’s debate is about foreign affairs, so Mitt Romney has to lie about things he doesn’t understand. The only thing that Mitt knows for certain about foreign policy is that President Obama didn’t call the attack in Benghazi a terrorist attack until 14 days later... and that’s completely wrong. Mitt Romney is going to say that President Obama’s response to Libya was muddled and contradictory. Hello! Everything Mitt Romney ever says or does is muddled and contradictory. He can’t even make a statement about his own positions without his campaign having to correct within the hour. Mitt says his business career qualifies him to conduct foreign policy. Mitt’s business career consisted of taking over and dismantling smaller companies. You can’t make a foreign policy out of taking over and dismantling smaller countries. We know, because George Bush tried and failed.

Tonight’s debate is in Boca Raton, Florida. That works out for Mitt Romney—Florida is a traditional place to end a person’s career. Boca is where Mitt made his infamous “47 percent” comments. Democrats should be promoting this debate as the “Return to Boca.” Nobody wants Mitt Romney making policy in the Middle East—evidently including Mitt Romney himself. In his previous Boca Raton appearance, Mitt said his “plan” was “we kick the ball down the field and hope that ultimately, somehow, something will happen and resolve it.” The sad thing is that that plan for the Middle East has more details to it than Mitt’s economic plan or tax plan.  “Hope something will happen and resolve it”? And they made fun of Obama for his “Hope” slogan! At least Barack Obama’s brand of hope didn’t involve just crossing your fingers.
As the GOP’s Libya cover-up conspiracy theory unravels in the pages of major U.S. newspapers (like here, here, here and here), House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa is so intent on taking out President Obama that he doesn’t care what the collateral damage is. Issa issued a document dump aimed at President Obama that ended up endangering the lives of Libyans who are working with the United States. Issa claims he is investigating security failures. What he is really doing is creating security failures. Issa didn’t even bother to redact the names of Libyans who are helping us, endangering their lives. Darrell, you’re the head of the Oversight Committee—that doesn’t mean you should be making stupid oversights.

Listen to The Randi Rhodes Show Monday through Friday 3 PM to 6 PM on WWRL 1600.
