Cable news is now featuring freaks that are
comparing the idea of gun control to what happened under the Third Reich... which from their point of view, was basically the tragic story of a crazed dictator denying people guns. Hitler’s priority wasn’t to ban the selling of high-capacity ammunition clips. He was too busy suppressing minorities and crushing the unions—the same things that today’s conservatives are obsessed with.

Adolf Hitler never enacted a ban on guns. Guns weren’t the first thing Adolf Hitler went after. In fact, he never got around to going after guns—and Adolf Hitler found the time to go after a LOT of things. Hitler knew that guns don’t free people from tyranny—people free people from tyranny. So he went after the people who would oppose him—like union members.
A new ad from an ammo company called USAAmmo
compares President Obama to tyrants like Hitler and Stalin. I’m shocked. Mostly, I’m shocked that an ammo company feels the need to advertise. Isn’t that stuff flying off of the shelves? The video with the ad claims that the President and Attorney General Eric Holder “are secretly conspiring American Citizens of the right to bear arms.” This ad is based on inciting fear and paranoia among people who are completely misinformed. Give the ammo company this much—they know their customers. A spokesman for USAAmmo said Obama is “anti-gun and he’s obviously a socialist cramming healthcare down America’s throats.” Obama is cramming healthcare down America’s throats! Well a lot of good all those guns are doing you guys—you can’t even prevent yourselves from being given affordable healthcare!

Mitch McConnell refuses to say if he would use the debt ceiling as a weapon... which is just another way of using the debt ceiling as a weapon. Republicans will always use any weapon they have. This is the party of 2nd Amendment solutions. They love weapons. The reason is obvious—if you don’t have the numbers, you better have the guns. It’s not easy running the country with a tiny base of elderly white men in the rural south. You have to be armed with things like assault rifles and debt ceilings.
