@RandiRadio #RandiRhodes blog: Stick With Him

Today, Colin Powell strongly endorsed President Obama (full video). Give Colin Powell credit—ever since that “vial of anthrax” fiasco at the UN, he has been obsessed with getting things right. Colin Powell has been a huge help to Barack Obama. But Obama has been a big help to Powell too. The endorsements of Obama did as much to restore Powell’s reputation as they did to enhance Obama’s reputation. Colin Powell called Mitt’s foreign policy “a moving target.” Worse—it’s a moving target that is full of holes!

President Obama has responded to GOP Senate candidate Richard Mourdock’s comments about rape by saying “Let me make a very simple proposition. Rape is rape.” “Rape is rape.” Period. Not comma, or dash, or question mark, or “see note at bottom of page.”

Mitt is trying to distance himself from Richard Mourdoch while still embracing him—not an easy trick, even for a shape-shifter. The Romney campaign said they would not ask Mourdoch to take down an ad featuring Romney heaping lavish praise on Mourdoch. Hey, if you guys asked, I’m sure the Obama campaign would be willing to pay to run that ad!

It turns out that Donald Trump’s “huge” bombshell is him offering $5 million for President Obama’s college transcripts! How stupid is Donald Trump? All the Obama campaign has to say is “Gladly—as soon as Mitt Romney releases his tax returns.” Of course, what Trump thinks is that the record will show that President Obama benefited from affirmative action. In Trump’s twisted mind, that would cause America to rise up against Obama. Donald, if there’s any doubt whether Barack Obama deserved to go to Harvard, take a look at what he has done with his life. And to really drive the point home, compare it with what you’ve done with your own life.

The things that Mitt Romney has been saying about having momentum are being exposed for what they are—things that Mitt Romney says! Yes, Romney got a bounce from Denver. But Denver is the “Mile High City,” and Mitt has come down a long way since Denver. Mitt, there’s a difference between a “bounce” and a “blast off.” And your brief ride up is quickly being overtaken by gravity.

Listen to The Randi Rhodes Show Monday through Friday 6 PM to 8 PM on WWRL 1600.
